Course Description

Food memories are interwoven with family, social and cultural traditions providing a rich resource for memoir writing. In this two-week class, we will explore the tastes of the past by revisiting family traditions and lifecycle events through the lens of food. Using the Guided Autobiography method, we will write on specific food-related themes using prompts, writing exercises and sensitizing questions.

In the second half of each class, we will share the pieces we have written in a mutually respectful and supportive environment.

This class is open to everyone – no previous writing experience is necessary.
