Scholarship Opportunity

River Heron Writers’ Workshops is offering two scholarships to the Creative Writing Experience workshop to two writers or poets who identify as underserved, that is, those who, without assistance, would otherwise not be able to access a writing workshop.

Writers and poets who identify as such are encouraged to complete an application and submit after September 15, 2026. Recipient(s) will be notified by email immediately.

If selected, this scholarship may be used for the Fall 2026 Managing Your Muse: A Creative Writing workshop. The upcoming session begins Sept. 21 and meets Mondays on Zoom for six weeks.

Applicant must be available during the time the workshop is offered. Scholarship may not be applied to a different workshop.

After the completion of the workshop, the scholarship recipients will be required to write a brief statement on how the workshop impacted their writing or their writing path.

This year’s scholarships are donated in support of poetry and creative writing in memory of Mark Wisse.
