Gwen Hart teaches writing at Montana State University Northern. Living on Montana's Hi-Line has provided many topics for poems. Characters such as the fox, the tumbleweed, horses, and the cows that free-range in the Bear Paw Mountains have made appearances in her recent work. Her second poetry collection, The Empress of Kisses, won the X.J. Kennedy Poetry Prize from Texas Review Press. Her poems have appeared recently in Storm Cellar, Mud Season Review, and Great Lakes Review.
