Originally from Saskatchewan, Canada, Allan Lake has lived in Vancouver, Cape Breton Island, Tasmania, Ibiza, Western Australia and now calls Melbourne home. He has published three collections: Tasmanian Tiger Breaks Silence (1988),  Sand in the Sole (2014), Grandparents: Portraits of Strain (1994). Lake won the 2015 Elwood Poetry Prize and the 2017 Lost Tower Publications(UK) Poetry Competition. Lake has been published in Australia, the US, Canada, the UK, Mauritius, India, and Italy. His work has appeared in Meniscus, Plumwood Mountain Journal, POAM, Poetica Christi Anthology, Verge, Yours&Mine, Poetry Matters, The Mossie, StylusLit, Cordite Poetry Review, Underground Poets, Pink Cover Zine, and Landscapes (ECU).
