When we are children, it is almost impossible to imagine our parents as
individuals. Some of my earliest memories are of days spent at a friend's
apartment while my mother slept after working night shifts.

Matthew Kohut has worked as a writer, teacher, and musician for thirty
years. His poetry has been published in The Dewdrop, Wild Roof Journal,
Leaping Clear, Ekphrastic Review, and two anthologies by Beautiful Cadaver Press. He is the co-author of two books of nonfiction.
