I am an adult Third Culture Kid (TCK), born in the United States to American parents but raised from infancy in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. This poem was written out of love and appreciation for my heart’s truest home. I will be forever grateful for all Oaxaca is—for its natural beauty, its wealth of indigenous culture, and for its weight of history—a land that has nurtured humanity for thousands upon thousands of years.
