Your Secret Power:
Tapping into your Senses
Workshop Description:
As writers, we recognize the impact details of place and experience have on a reader, yet it’s common to find ourselves unobservant as we coast through everyday environments and activities. The solution is a conscious practice of attentiveness using our five senses. Each week of the workshop, we will focus on one of our senses, discussing examples from a range of published work and sharpening our awareness through exercises. The final session will synthesize ideas from the previous weeks and allow time for sharing. This workshop provides opportunities for writers of all levels to continue deepening awareness in a way that is not only beneficial to our craft but also personally satisfying.

Comments:
"Kris Anderson’s classes in poetry have been some of the most effective and inspiring moments for me as a writer. It is a pleasure to continue working with Kris because of her keen eye for detail and her ear for lyricism as well as her years of experience working as an editor of language. Anyone lucky enough to sign up for a class with Kris will be challenged to grow their knowledge and to apply what they have learned in effective ways." Susan R. A.
“I was fortunate enough to work with Kris Anderson on my work before she moved from California. It wasn't only that she is a beautiful poet and knowledgeable teacher, because she is. Kris has an analytical kindness in the way she offers feedback and a unique creative ability to see meaningful opportunities, that once mentioned drastically elevated the strength of my work. Sometimes the smallest of observations make the biggest differences. That's who Kris is. I firmly believe whoever takes a workshop with Kris Anderson will come out a better, stronger, and more confident writer.” B.L.S.
